The Rise of Small Appliances

Speaking of colour… another trend on the rise this year is small, colourful kitchen appliances. There are so many new and interesting options for countertop appliances, and they offer a wonderful way to inject a pop of colour and contrast into your kitchen. When it comes to storing these appliances - the choice is yours! Some of our clients still prefer the look of clear countertops, so they opt to tuck these appliances away in pocket doors or extra deep drawers when not in use. On the other hand, many of our clients like to have them out on full display! If your home has space to allow it, a smaller enclosed prep kitchen or pantry area offers a happy medium - where you can leave these items out, while still remaining relatively “out of sight”!

Appliances are no longer limited to the perimeter of the kitchen. If you've got enough space for a kitchen island, 2022 is the year to really put it to use. While you may think of the kitchen island simply as a space for prepping food, eating breakfast, or organizing your groceries, try to expand your imagination. A kitchen island can actually be a great spot to house hidden or paneled appliances.
